Christian Cavanagh

Originally from Cardiff, Christian graduated from The University of Wales in 1996. His pursuit to become a teacher was ignited by his fond memories of his own school days.  As a teenager Christian had a passion for sport and feels that the nurturing from his teachers led him to coach a Junior Rugby team.  This gave him the confidence and inspiration to want to reach his full potential.

Christian has worked in the South East for the last 14 years.  Most of which have been spent at Kemnal Technology College working in a variety of different posts.  

He was appointed as Headteacher at Debden Park High School in March 2007 when the school had recently been placed in Special Measures.  Six months after joining, the school was taken out of Special Measures and categorised as ‘Good’ and in September 2009 the school was graded by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding’. Last year the school was nationally recognised as the 3rd most improved school in the country.

Christian is a National Leader of Education and supports other schools within The Kemnal Academies Trust.
