Paul trained as an electrical engineer and is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.  Following an early career in electronic circuit design he joined British Telecom as a general engineering manager and became a Head of Division in 1987.

Paul joined Kemnal Technology College as a Vice Principal in 1995 to manage all non-teaching activity including Finance, HR, ICT, Estates and Administration.  In 2005 he became part of the team working with other schools to improve educational standards, culminating his appointment as TKAT’s Chief Operations Officer. 

Paul is also the TKAT Company Secretary and much of his time at present is spent working on the conversion of schools into TKAT Academies.  Paul says “My role is to work with Head Teachers and Business Managers to deliver the environments required to enable continuous improvement in standards of teaching and learning, never to say ‘No’ but always to ask ’Why?’.”
