Trust Leaders talk all things TKAT on Teachers Talk Radio podcast

Posted on: 24th Jan 2023

David Linsell, TKAT's Director of Local Governance, Secondary Curriculum and TKAT ACE (A Champion for Every Child) and David Churchill, TKAT's Director of Opportunity were guests on an edition of the Teachers Talk Radio podcast recently, which focussed on Multi Academy Trusts (MATs) and their place in the UK education system.

The podcast, recorded in December 2022, was hosted by Dr Poppy Gibson, who is senior lecturer in education at Anglia Ruskin University. The programme explored the benefits of educational Trusts, and the roles undertaken by the two leaders interviewed.

David Churchill spoke about the unique position of MATs and their ability to form collaborative partnerships to maximise learning outcomes for pupils and support Trust priorities, such as TKAT's focus on reading.

David Linsell took the opportunity to highlight the positive benefits of the TKAT ACE (A Champion for Every Child) programme, which provides a dedicated 1:1 tutor for each disadvantaged pupil and their family.

Tutors are trained in helping pupils overcome barriers to academic, social and emotional development. Piloted in 2020/2021, the programme is now rolled out in all 45 schools within the Trust.
