TKAT’s CEO Dr Karen Roberts was delighted to meet with Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge this week, along with other MAT (Multi Academy Trust) leaders, to discuss pioneering work to teach secondary pupils about baby brain development. The meeting focused on the neuroscience underpinning how caregiver’s behaviour is pivotal to childhood development and children’s future outcomes.

The event took place at Buckingham Palace and the group spoke about innovative research being carried out by the University of Oxford, centred around educating teenagers in science lessons about how early experiences shape brain development. There were discussions on how best to bring this subject to life in secondary schools across the country.

The focus of this work aligns strongly with the Duchess and her interest in early childhood, as it correlates the critical importance of early child development and its influence on an individual’s long-term health, wellbeing and potential in the future. See more at https://t.co/zW9NUnpORi.
