Pupils at TKAT's Welling School reach 'First Give' charity final
Posted on: 16th Jun 2022Year 7 pupils at TKAT's Welling School in the London borough of Bexley have been taking part in a 'First Give' (www.Firstgive.co.uk) programme.
During Tutor time, students researched local charities, presented their choices within their tutor group and voted on which charity should be represented.
The students were tasked with planning, implementing and reflecting on social action.
To complete the programme, members of the class presented on stage to a panel of judges and representatives from the charities.
Gosia Kelly from First Give said:
"Well done to all of the presenting Y7 teams at Welling School. You all showed so much passion and courage to advocate for your charities!"
The winner of the First Give Final was 7D3 and £1,000 was awarded to BEYOND - a charity that raises money to help other organisations and schools which will truly make a difference to the mental health of young people up and down the UK.
