TKAT ‘s Early Years Conference brings learning professionals together

Posted on: 22nd Jun 2022

27 TKAT primary schools from across the Trust were represented at our recent Early Years Conference, with 51 teaching and learning professionals in attendance.

The conference theme was ‘Closing the Disadvantaged Gap for Early Years’ and the guest speaker was Ben Kingston-Hughes from 'Inspired Children' http://www.iinspired.org.uk/

The day focussed on how to develop play in children, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds and the impact this can have on neurodevelopment.

Feedback from the day was very positive:

"This conference allowed me to forget the everyday pressures and focus on why I chose EYFS to begin with!"

"Ben reminded me why I became an Early Years Teacher - Joy and fun is an integral part of school life!"

"Welcoming and accommodating event. Professional but with a real emphasis on learning from each other. Wonderful to be back in face to face learning!"

Ella Roberts, Director of Professional Learning and Senior Accredited Coach, helped to organise the event and said:

"The day was the perfect balance between neuroscience, classroom tips and having fun."

Thank you to all involved.
