We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and dynamic Cover Supervisor on permanent basis.
The role of a cover supervisor is to work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom. This could include requiring detailed and specialist knowledge in particular areas and will involve assisting the teacher in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources. Staff may also supervise whole classes during the shortterm absence of teachers. The role will also involve some administrative and other support tasks at times when cover is not required. Good communication and ICT skills are essential. Any necessary training and support will be provided. Please note Cover Supervisor’s may be required to attend 1 teacher meeting a term.

The achievements of our pupils are extraordinary and will give you a sense of achievement when they make progress, however small. In-house training will be given on all aspects of the job, although a level of knowledge or understanding is an advantage. Cover Supervisors support pupils aged from nursery through to Year 6. Behavioural needs vary from child to child so you will need to be both confident and resilient in working with challenging behaviour. Shenstone School is a primary aged special school for pupils with severe, and/ or profound and multiple learning difficulties. Shenstone School is one school based across two sites which are 5 miles apart - the Sidcup site age ranges are from nursery to Year 3 and the Crayford site is mostly Year 2 – Year 6. They are supported by a dedicated staff team and we stand by our motto of “together we engage, thrive and achieve”. Shenstone School was inspected in October 2019 and the outcome is that we continue to be a ‘good’ school, where the children are happy is learning is made fun. We have been part of The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT) since 2017. TKAT is one of the largest MultiAcademy Trusts in the South of England with over 42 Primary and Secondary Academies in the TKAT Family.
