We are seeking to recruit a flexible, enthusiastic hard-working self- motivated and reliable Caretaker as soon as possible. Good communication, interpersonal and DIY skills are essential. To work in our busy school, you must be positive, hardworking and have a strong commitment to high standards of service delivery and customer care.
Duties will include the caretaking of the school as directed by the Business Manager to maintain our lovely school and to give an efficient professional service that supports the learning of all our pupils and provides a safe, clean environment for our staff, parents and visitors. The ideal candidate will be proactive, have a can-do attitude and be hands on in undertaking practical jobs around the school premises. The pupils’ needs must be at the heart of everything you do, ensuring that you keep them safe by assisting the staff in maintaining a high standard within the premises.
You will be responsible for the security of the premises, general maintenance work and repairs including grounds maintenance, health and safety issues relating to the building, cleaning and porterage duties. It is essential that you are physically fit and capable of regular stooping, bending, lifting and carrying of equipment, materials, furniture and be able to climb ladders.
There will need to be a degree of flexibility around certain key events in the school calendar, eg parents evenings, governing body meetings, school fairs etc. You may be expected to undertake lettings for the school premises.
This is a part-time, all year-round position and the working hours are 25 hours per week Monday to Friday. The 2 shifts per day are from 7:30am to 9:30am in the morning and from 3pm to 6pm in the evening plus to be on emergency callout outside school hours.
