CHILDREN AT TKAT'S THE MILL PRIMARY ACADEMY MAKE HANDMADE CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR KEY WORKERS

Posted on 3rd December 2020

Children at TKAT's The Mill Primary Academy in Crawley, West Sussex, have been as busy as Christmas elves recently - in their special 'Room 13' art studio.

As part of coping with the COVID19 pandemic, the children have chosen to make small Christmas gifts for parents who were key workers during the first lockdown.  Lucky recipiants will receive gifts of handmade clay ornaments, mini Christmas stockings and fabric decoration, in a specially made paper bag with a flyer explaining the project. The children have used screen printing, lino-cut, sewing and modelling skills.

The school is featuring this project and others on their website:

The website is a work in progress, but when complete, will act as an exhibition site, diary and resource centre that records how the children worked through the Covid situation.

Well done to all involved in this project at The Mill Primary Academy. To learn more about this inspirational school, please visit https://www.themill-tkat.org/
