Workshop Description:

TKAT Secondary Maths Conference (6th July 2023)

The TKAT Secondary Maths secondary conference will be taking place in the Summer term and will focus on two key areas:

A meet and greet with teas and coffees will be available from 08:30am

Morning. Transition of topics from Primary to Secondary.

This session will be delivered by the Maths Hub and focus on the important transition as pupils join us in Year 7. All delegates will take part in a takeaway CPD session which they will be able to take back to their own departments. In addition, we will hear from Primary colleagues, who will provide a greater understanding of Year 6 maths coverage and the types of Qs experience in SATs.

Afternoon. GL Assessments.

This will be in preparation for all Year 7s completing GL assessment in Sept 2023 and Year 9 in June/July 2024. These will be mandatory assessments for all schools in 2023/2024. The session will be delivered by the GL team, providing training and support to HOD who will be leading on this in their own schools.
