The Atkins Centre falls just inside the new ULEZ congestion zone, which means if you have
a non-compliant car you will need to pay a £12.50 fee on the day you visit the centre. The
government have deemed this a non-claimable expense meaning that TKAT are not allowed
to refund it to staff.
A lot of cars are ULEZ compliant, so you won’t have to pay the fee. check your car by clicking here
If you don’t have a compliant car, then you need to pay the fee by midnight on the third
day following your journey. Visit Transport for London for information on how to pay.
Alternatively, for anyone owning a non-compliant vehicle you do have a couple of options to
avoid paying the fee.
● Ask if there is someone else travelling from your school (or a local school) you can
car share with.
● Travel by train to Sidcup Station which is 2 miles from The Atkins Centre. (Train
fares, taxi fares, bus fares & parking can be reimbursed via expenses providing you
get a receipt) You can get a bus from the station which is around a 30-minute
● Park outside the zone and arrange a taxi to take you in the last part of the journey.
There are limited parking spaces at Farningham Road Station, South Darenth, DA4
