TKAT ALL Phase Attendance conference
Target Audience:
School SLT Attendance Champions (Leads) and Attendance Officers (2 places total available per school)
Overview:
This is TKATs third Attendance conference where we aim to bring together Primary and Secondary Attendance Champions / SLT Leads and Attendance Officers from across the trust to explore latest ideas and strategies, share good practice with evidence of impact and network within and across regions to further develop and improve attendance. The topics covered will be:-
- Inspecting Attendance - ensuring you are inspection ready and compliant with the new framework
- Presentations from the primary and secondary sectors on keeping your PA on target
- Presentations on how schools have moved from stuck to success
- An overview of PA essentials
- A deep dive into strategies for supporting outlying groups - PP, SEND, Boys, Girls
In the afternoon we will facilitate groups discussing how to best support pupil groups of concern. This session ‘ Outlying Groups - Successful Strategies from across the Trust’ will require you to select two of the following four groups you feel your school has more success with or can contribute the most expertise to. You will be guaranteed one of your two choices.
The pupil groups are:
- SEN/D
- PP
- Boys
- Girls
You need to select a 1st and a 2nd choice, naming the groups you would like to be part of during registration so we can structure the groups in advance.
Please come ready to discuss:
- What common challenges have you faced?
- How has the school overcome some of these?
- What resources or approaches have you used that helped? Eg assemblies, intervention packages, small group work, rewards etc
- You might like to bring your laptop or ipad so you can show resources or interventions to your peers.
Each group will then come to a consensus as to the most helpful approaches for supporting attendance for these pupils, so we grow our skills and resources as a group.
