Newlands Primary School staff run 'Race for Life' and raise over £2,800 for Cancer Research UK

Staff members from TKAT's Newlands Primary School in Ramsgate laced up their running shoes last weekend to take part in the Race for Life event at Herne Bay, all in support of Cancer Research UK. Their efforts paid off in a big way, raising an impressive £2,350 — with an additional £517.50 secured through Gift Aid contributions, bringing the total to £2,867.50.

The team, made up of teaching and support staff, completed the run in honour of loved ones affected by cancer and to contribute to the ongoing fight against the disease. Their participation not only showcased the school’s commitment to community and charity, but also inspired pupils and families to support the cause. The staff were cheered on by colleagues, pupils, and families, all of whom played a role in supporting the fundraising effort.

Headteacher Mr Bailey said: 

“We’re incredibly proud of our staff for coming together to support such an important cause. Their dedication and determination were truly heart-warming and the generosity shown by our school community has been overwhelming. Cancer touches so many lives, including those within our own school community.”

The money raised will go towards finding treatments and offer hope to millions of people affected by cancer across the UK.
