Year 3s from Ore Village Primary Academy embark on inspiring ‘Pearls of the Sea’ project with Hastings Contemporary
Ore Village Primary Academy's Year 3 students enjoyed a wonderful cultural visit to Hastings Contemporary as they began their exciting new project, Pearls of the Sea. This partnership offers our pupils a truly unique creative opportunity: to work closely with local artists, explore professional gallery spaces, and develop their own artwork that will ultimately be exhibited for the public to enjoy.
During their visit, the children engaged with current exhibitions, explored a range of artistic techniques, and gathered inspiration for the pieces they will create over the coming weeks. Their enthusiasm, curiosity and thoughtful responses impressed everyone involved.
The project also includes a special collaboration with the White Rock Theatre. As part of this, pupils will have the chance to bring aspects of their artwork to life on stage - combining visual art with performance in a way that celebrates creativity across disciplines.
We are incredibly proud to provide experiences that broaden children’s horizons and connect them with the cultural richness of our local community. We cannot wait to see how this fabulous project unfolds and to celebrate the final exhibition later this year.
Any parents and families still thinking about their child's reception class place for September 2026 are very welcome to visit Ore Village. They can contact the school on 01424 422979 or via email office@ovpa-tkat.org
